Math on Tuesday!

Children are expected to know how to read tally marks on standardized testing and it is a common first grade skill.  The children were introduced to tally marks while playing the "Looking for a Moose" game.  Now that they know how to use tally marks they can easily do this work, making tally marks for given numbers.

Using these shapes to make snowflake designs.

This child is skip counting by 5 and recording her work.

Here the student is using a caterpillar to make different patterns.  After the pattern is made the student must identify what kind of pattern it is.  AABAAB, ABAABA, ABBABB etc.
