Mult-Age

What is Heart Centered Multi-Age?

Children learn best in a fun and exciting environment.  Learning to be honest, kind, and cooperative, but calm in one's own body are all lessons of the heart.  These basic beliefs set the tone for all daily interactions between students and teachers.  The early elementary years of a child's education should prepare them not only for the academic challenges ahead, but also provide them with the tools to live socially adept and inwardly happy lives.  Our Multi-Age classroom consists of children ages 4 -7.

What Makes us Different. . .

Our curriculum is entirely differentiated to meet all of our learners where they are developmentally.  While we all may be studying the same topic, the depth and breadth of study completely depends on the learner and their current level of learning.

Learning at Heart Centered Multi-Age does not stop in the classroom.  A foundation of our program is outings into the community and nature.  An example of these outings include shows to the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord and the Silver Recital Hall at Plymouth State, along with apple picking, hiking, skiing, gardening, community service opportunities and much, much more!

Calm and compassionate learners are the ideal for which we strive.  Through a school day tailored around the rhythms of childhood, with time for concentration and time for gross motor play, children are given the tools to regulate their bodies and minds and become engaged learners and citizens.

Our Options

Family needs are all unique.  HCMA offers flexible hours and programming to accommodate the needs of each child and the schedules of busy families.

Our Location

We are located at 12 Central Square in Bristol's Historic Downtown.  Our centralized location allows us to easily find our way to Kelley Park, The Minot Sleeper Library, The Slim Baker Area, and various other local places of interest.  Our classroom space in an historic brick building greets the children with warm hardwood floors and bright light.  We especially enjoy our connection to our downtown neighbors including the famous, Diane the Turtle of Twin Designs!
